Was just wondering if you have seen this book cover/
[link]

I happened to be reading it and the cover art I noticed it reminded me of one of the first Steampunk picts I ever googled to look at. Those are your hands, gun(minus the barrel) and cane.

Did BBC ever contact you? If yes, that's awesome to have part of your creations on a book cover.

So crazy! It's so weird that two different people have pointed this out at basically the same time when the book has been out for years. How did you stumble across it and notice it was me?

This is where I originally posted about it in hopes someone from your group was a reader here. [link] And rats I members only posted it, so I'm unsure you can see it. ;_;

Few years ago when I typed in google "Steampunk" your picture was the first person in a outfit that I saw. I tend to memorize things when I see them. And I got the book recently and during a 3 day power out I was reading it to stave off internet withdrawal. I knew something was wrong with the cover the moment I saw it. I was positive those were not his hands. So I quickly looked in your gallery and confirmed yes those are your hands, cane and part of your gun.

I'd seriously contact the BBC and ask why they simply did not ask for permission (though not sure they asked the person who took the pict.) I see it as they stole your art, Though I'm a fan of BBC and Dr Who I look down at art thieves.

I love this!

HOWEVER. I think that someone may have copied it.
See image here.

The steampunk gentleman at the bottom of the cover. The gun is similar to yours, as is the basic overall design. But look at the arm with the bronze thing on the forearm. Now, the bronze thing is different from yours, but look near the elbow. YOU CAN SEE YOUR'S PEEKING OUT! And look at that hand! It's exactly the same! The cog, the glove, and the can are from your picture! And you can see that the buckles on the bronze band are fancy versions of yours. And where the ornamentation on the band should be you can see where they Photoshopped it out.

Now, as much as I love Doctor Who, I thought you should know.

It is great to see your whole costume as sitting behind you on the bus at MegaCon really did not do it justice. It is truly an amazing piece of art.

It was really neat to meet you and to talk for the few minutes of the bus ride. I hope you all got home safe and sound. I realized when we got home that you were the first Deviant we got to meet. We hope not the last, but if they are all as friendly as you then it will definitely be a great time.

awesome!!! I love it!!! Only comment I can give you is that Id love to have seen those typical victorian era style copper/broze glasses. You know, very round. These look a tad too modern in my eyes.

But still, thats a minot detail in a TOTALLY AWESOME OUTFIT. OMG.

You and your crew do this so well, it almost makes us want to give up... : ) The level of detail is what really makes this so cool.

But truly, all of your steampunk gear is amazing! (I am particularly enamoured of your metal waistcoat, and quite jealous of your smithing skills. I seriously almost cried when I saw that. So original, and so meticulous. !!! )

I hope we run into you guys at a con sometime, as we're in NC. (We'll be in less awe-inspiring steampunk gear.)

peace and all that jazz...

And I'm impressed, again. What a wonderful job you have done, with all those little details! Steampunk is my favourite genre. Actually, I'm having a Steampunk-larp in Finland next summer, so, if you happened to be in the neighbourhood, ;) .... I wouldn't mind at all seeing your inventions real life, but alas, it's a long way from Georgia to Finland.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that you are an inspiring person with fabulous costumes. I would like to fave all these Steampunk -pics, but that wouldn't be too smart, so I'm faving just this one...

As you can see from my page, I'm a belly dancer, and when someone recommended this shitty site, I couldn't help but laugh at their cheap junk. Who ever would think that a $5 shimmy belt would survive two seconds of shimmying?! BUT THEN I found the above page and thought "oooo."

And then I thought, "I want one, and I bet that steampunk guy on DeviantArt would also appreciate this..."

So for your and my amusement, check out this cool Victorian inspired nautical equipment on a random bullshit belly dance wholeseller's website.

Ok, what does the should mounted gun do again? If the pirates are so dapper I have to wonder what the guys hunting them are dressed like. Man, I want to know what Cap'n Dante's airship looks like, the crew, the whole nine yards. Curse you, you fiend for capturing my imagination with your fiendishly clever costume.

Did you make all your gear yourself? If so, how was it made (material-wise), and if not, where did you get it?

Very cool regardless.
